Istvan Sandorfi (Budapest, Hungary). Sandorfi and his family served five years in a Stalinist prison during the Communist regime due to the fact that Sandorfi’s father was the director of an American company in the 1950′s.

To escape his violent and painful past, Sandorfi took refuge in the arts at the age of 12, and after his second exhibition in 1966, he gave up drawing and devoted himself exclusively to oil painting.
